svn log shows no author no date

Today I get myself in an issue of subversion which is similar to this one (link).

This is the situation:
– my subversion is 1.6.6 on a Linux Mint
– I create a test repo on local machine, and use svnserve to serve this repo
– in this repo I make some test directory and file, then commit
– svn log shows no author, no date as follows:

administrator@mindipop ~/Documents/test $ svn log
————————————————————————
r2 | (no author) | (no date) | 1 line
————————————————————————
r1 | (no author) | (no date) | 1 line
————————————————————————

Searching the internet gives me some clue but none works for my case :(. I finally decide to assign ‘none’ to anonymous access in svnserve.conf file as follows.

[general]
### These options control access to the repository for unauthenticated
### and authenticated users. Valid values are “write”, “read”,
### and “none”. The sample settings below are the defaults.
anon-access = none
auth-access = write

Guess what happens ! Svn log shows author and date :D.

administrator@mindipop ~/Documents/test $ svn log
